Autumn has arrived and brought lots of rain to quench the dry fields, fill the lanes with puddles and wash the dust off the hedgerows. We love walking in autumn, especially when there is warm sunshine and the falling leaves are putting on their annual colour show. After a very long hot summer, it is time to put the shorts away, take out the waterproof trousers and start cleaning the boots once again.

With the onset of winter, our numbers do tend to drop, as some of our walkers prefer to stay warm and dry indoors, and who can blame them. For the majority, though, it is business as usual, and we walk in all weathers, equipped with the right clothing. It is very rare we are forced to cancel a walk, but do check our Facebook page and the walks programme for any last-minute changes.

Looking ahead to the end of the year, we have a great selection of walks coming up, and we even walk on Christmas Day for those who need a little pre-indulgence exercise!

For our regular walks, you can try us out first by joining up to three walks before there is any requirement to join Ramblers, but by joining (for the cost of a monthly coffee) you will be able to walk with any rambler group in the country.

If you feel our regular walks are a little too far and would like to improve your fitness at a more gentle pace, our wellbeing walks are the ideal introduction to walking in light-hearted company.

All our walks are led by experienced leaders. Our _regular walks programme_ and details of our shorter _wellbeing walks_ are available at the top of the page, but please keep checking the website for updates, as sometimes last-minute changes need to be made.

We also offer a varied social programme, providing the opportunity to meet new friends. This includes an annual dinner, Summer garden party, and Christmas lunch. Click on _Social Events_ above to discover what’s coming up.
